According to officials, a shooter at Michigan State University has left at least three people dead.
Police reported that in addition to the three deaths, the suspect had allegedly died from a “self-inflicted gunshot wound.”
In the incident late on Monday at the main campus in the community of East Lansing, five more individuals were hurt.
The suspect was identified by police as “a black guy, of shorter stature.” Later, they claimed that he was 43 years old and unrelated to the university.
During the manhunt, police issued a shelter-in-place order for locals and students, but they eventually dropped it after determining that there was “no longer a threat to campus.”
The suspect was “found off campus,” they added.
